we are family legacy
our history starts in 1965, founded by Uwe Thormahlen and Otto Kloeti.
We have come a long way since the first 10,000 bags that were shipped to Europe that year.
In 1968 Coricafé builds its first dry mill in Tuetal de Alajuela, and in 1987 Eric Thormahlen returns from Germany and joins the company, becoming the second generation on board.
More than 50 years of impeccable experience, exporting the best out of Costa Rica.
In 1997, The facility in Río Segundo de Alajuela, is acquired, and Coricafé is one of the only
two exporters who own their own dry mill in Costa Rica.
In 2003, Stefan Wille, who started in the coffee business in 1990, joins the
team, and in 2010 our founder Uwe Thormahlen was awarded the medal Coffee Merit.
In 2022, Nicole Thormahlen, the third generation, joins the company.
